My neighbor, Kelly, was so generous to lend us this cradle for our little Logan. It is just too sweet! We've already had to booby-trap it with aluminum foil in the bottom as Tangerine, our cat, has taken a liking to it. She thinks it's her cozy kitty bed. She's wrong. ;)

Our Little Monkey

The baby is kicking me!!! YAY! He's a little monkey - that's for sure. Today he was doing somersaults or something for a few hours while I worked away at my computer and tried to concentrate on conducting a conference call for IBM. It is the coolest feeling in the whole world and I'm so grateful God has allowed me to become a mommy...

Kevin's Birthday Party

Char and Michael held a big family bash for Kevin's 40th birthday at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant on Feb. 22nd. Aren't Jack and Jessica super-cute? The 'guys' then all went to Vegas for a day to celebrate. I'm not sure how they made out - but no one's offered to take the family to Hawaii yet - so I'm thinking no one hit the big jackpot. :)

IT'S A BOY!!!

We don't have a picture to prove it - but that's what the doc says! This picture is proof enough for me. The baby's is laying on his side facing us. His knee is the white blob on the left, his arm cuts across the middle of the picture and his face is on the right side.

You can only see his chin, mouth, and nose - his eyes are in the shadows.

But man - doesn't he look like a spitting image of his Papa?

I'll have to get you guys a picture of just Eric's chin and nose while he's laying down one of these days - then you'll really see it!!!

Ok - we're 98% positive we want to name the baby:

Logan David Standley

David after my dad, of course.

So - unless I come across a really good reason that we shouldn't name him Logan in the next 20 weeks - that's going to be his name!

(Grandparents don't have veto power)

How we decided the baby's name:

We had the most fabulous meal last night, compliments of Chez Eric, and discussed baby names with Rick and Sue over Lobster Ravioli with Creamy Crab Sauce and Raspberry Cheesecake. To quote Rachel Ray - "YUM-OH". Thank you, Rick and Sue, for helping us narrow it down! And thank you, honey, for such an amazing and elegant feast!

I decided to go ahead and name the baby Logan this morning at 4am when the baby insomnia kicked in. Eric agreed when his alarm went off at 5.

I can't wait to meet him!

What about the puppy?

Remember our determination to get an American Mastiff last year?

Well - we got on the very long list and waited our turn and then we got pregnant. ;)
We decided not to get a puppy 3 months before we got the baby. Good decision, I hope!

But - we still want our little "Otis" one of these days! We're hoping that next spring's litter will do just perfectly.

The Pregnancy Club

My pregnant friends and I.

Deb with baby Brandon - 10 weeks old
Sara - 40 weeks pregnant
LaDeen - 30 weeks pregnant
Brenna - 20 weeks pregnant

We could not have planned it better - these are my 3 of my oldest and dearest girlfriends in Colorado. (Oldest meaning I've been friends with them longest - not "OLDest")

The funny thing is - 3 of 4 of these babies are confirmed BOYS.
And we're all betting LaDeen's baby will have baby boy parts, too. ;)
