Our Son
NINE POUNDS AND FOUR OUNCES
of unimaginable bliss entered our lives at
8:30pm on Saturday, July 21st when our son,
Logan David Standley,
made his grand entrance into this world.
Amazing Father, Eric Standley
Midwife, Janelle Boyington
Doula, Ranelle Williams
Best Friend, LaDeen Perez
and the God of our understanding
attended the birth at our home.
There were no complications - mom and baby are perfectly healthy.
Brenna's labor started around 9am Saturday morning and lasted approximately
11 1/2 hours with a little over 1 hour of 'pushing'.
We are content and happy in our family bed as the sun rises on
the first morning of our child's life.
Thank You God - he is perfect.

2 Days Until D-Day!
Hi All - It's 2 days until the due date...
which is funny because I think we've all been feeling like little Logan's late - even though if he were born tomorrow (Monday), he'd technically be 1 day early! Isn't it funny how 9 months of anticipation affects us anxious humans?
Well, anyway - everything is pointing to a healthy amazing birth. Logan's head down and bottoms up and he's getting pretty low. I've had some minor signs that my body is preparing for labor - but no one can predict when Logan will come based on those signs, unfortunately. My house is spotless and completely organized and we're stocked with food. So - whenever he's ready - we're ready! We won't be seeking an induction if we go past the due date - we'll just let Logan pick his birthday as long as everything continues to be medically OK as the days pass. I keep hearing that first time mommies with first born babies can go a week to two weeks past the due date - oh my God - could you imagine if I were still preggers on July 31st? Ugh. Well, keep your fingers crossed for us! We'll definitely be in touch when we have a baby.
Big Hugs to All!
